UI/UX Designer - Autonomous Machinery

We’re partnering with a robotics startup that’s redefining how infrastructure gets built. Their autonomy platform transforms heavy machinery into fully autonomous fleets, enabling contractors to deliver projects faster, safer, and with greater precision. Already deployed across multiple job sites, they’re scaling quickly and hiring their first
full-time UI/UX Designer to work on Human-Machine interfaces.

This is a rare opportunity to establish the design function from day one. You’ll shape the product experience across operator tools, site management dashboards, and real-time monitoring systems—translating complex autonomy workflows into clear, intuitive interfaces that bring cutting-edge robotics to life on the job site.

What you’ll do.

  • Lead end-to-end design across operator, management, and monitoring surfaces.

  • Translate technical workflows into simple, user-friendly tools for field operators.

  • Build scalable design systems and component libraries.

  • Conduct research with contractors and operators to validate design decisions.

  • Collaborate closely with leadership to define and ship product features.

What we’re looking for.

  • 3–6 years of product design experience in fast-moving environments.

  • Strong end-to-end craft: research, flows, prototyping, and high-fidelity design.

  • Ability to operate independently as the first in-house designer.

  • Excitement to bring clarity and polish to complex, high-impact problems.

Bonus points.

  • Experience designing for robotics, IoT, or enterprise platforms.

  • Comfort with data visualization and technical workflows.

About the team.

You’ll be joining a focused team with offices in New York, San Francisco, and Austin, TX, plus active test sites in multiple cities. The app team is based in New York and works closely with product and engineering across locations. The group includes former product leaders from Rivian, Cruise, and Waymo—people who’ve built and scaled breakthrough autonomous systems before. They’re eager to partner with their first design lead to shape intuitive, world-class interfaces for the next generation of autonomous machinery.
